Salman Khan is taking keen interest in producing more and more films. He is going the whole hog for his home production the Hero remake, starring starkids Sooraj Pancholi and Athiya Shetty, and now the actor has plans to produce the Hindi remake of Punjabi blockbuster Jatt & Juliet.

Yes, as per trade sources, Salman Khan is collaborating with friend Himesh Reshammiya for this film. Salman Khans production house, Salman Khan Being Human Production, along with Himesh Reshammiya’s HR Musik will make the Hindi remake of Jatt & Juliet, released in 2012.

It’s learnt that Himesh is quite impressed by the storyline of the Punjabi hit, and is eager to make it in Hindi. The music composer has already bought the remake rights of the movie for Rs. 3.5 crores.

Salman will apparently launch a new boy Zahir in this film. The star, who was instrumental in launching the careers of several newcomers, wants to make films with fresh faces. There are also rumours that he might launch the son of his bodyguard Shera.

The heroine in the remake of Jatt & Juliet is expected to be Neeru Bajwa, who also starred in the original. The stunning actress started with TV before foraying into Punjabi film industry. She has even done cameos in a few Hindi films.

Director Anurag Singh of the original will also helm the remake. The director has even confirmed the news, but is not sure when he is going to start the project.

Jatt & Juliet took a mammoth opening with 100% occupancies in Punjab, breaking records at the box office. It also did a very good business at Delhi/UP circuit. The movie’s world-wide collection was approximately of Rs 245 million. The movie’s sequel Jatt & Juliet 2 released this year in June.
