The court of Additional Sessions judge Faridkot has issued non-bailable warrant against Punjabi singer Preet Brar facing fraud charges. The warrant has been issued under Section 82 CrPC while fixing November 15 as the date for the accused to appear in the court. Acting on a complaint filed by Gurlal Singh resident of Jeevan Nagar, a fraud case had been registered against Brar on July 17, 2010. During the investigation, police found that the accused had taken Rs one lakh from the complainant for sending him to Dubai but later he neither returned the money nor sent him abroad. After investigation, police registered a case against the singer under Section 420, 426 of the Indian Penal Code.

The singer was granted interim bail but later when he did not appear in the court proceedings, a non-bailable warrant was issued against him. The court also rejected interim bail application filed by the singer on October 17, 2012 , declaring him an offender and issuing non-bailable warrant against him.  Also known as the duet king, Preet Brar had started his singing career in 1994 with ‘Tere Bina Jia Nahi Lagda’ and tasted fame with many albums like “Khand Missri”, “Nachdi Nachdi Aa”, “Tere Jahi Kuri”, “Ek Tere Karke” and “Petrol 2”. He has also acted in a Punjabi film “Kaun kise da beli”.
