Close on the heels of reports that Hollywood too is keen on adding Punjabi tadka to their films. The upcoming Bruce Willis-starrer A Good Day To Die Hard will be dubbed in Punjabi, which will be a first. Confirming this, a studio insider says, “We are currently in talks with top Punjabi celebrities for voice-overs, and the names are yet to be finalised.”
While the studio is tight-lipped about the names being considered, buzz suggests that they are looking at some famous Punjabi singers, and that actor Jimmy Shergill may also be in the running. Talking about going the Punjabi way, the insider adds that these films are increasingly finding a huge market up North, especially in Punjab. Following the success of their earlier releases down South, they have now decided to tap the markets in the North too. “Action films are huge there and the markets are growing rapidly,” adds the insider.
Directed by John Moore, the film is the fifth installment in the Die Hard series and will have Willis reprise the lead role of John McClane.
