Pollywood industry awaited a new era with the recent release Double di Trouble. When big names like Subhash Ghai, Smeep Kang, Dharmendra & Gippy Grewal come together, obviously expectations become too high from the movie.
Double Di Trouble movie is a crispy fun endeavor inspired by the Shakespeare’s well-known play “Identical Twin’s. Bollywood had also tried the plot a number of times. On the same lines Double Di Trouble is based on a father & son Duo, who moves to another city from where the confusion begins. Dharmendra (Ajit Singh) & Gippy Grewal (Fateh) plays Lawyers who went to Chandigarh for a case where they incidentally recognized as Dharmendra (Manjit Singh) & Gippy Grewal (Ekam) another father & Son Duo. Not to say that the confusion created by the situation gives the audiences some moments to laugh.
Dharmendra did justice to his roles, even after a long break he looks as good as ever Gippy Grewal is constantly becoming better in his acting skill, and he did not disappoint his fans in this movie too. Gurpreet Ghuggi (Goni) is another great actor in Punjabi film industry but surprisingly he has not offered anything new this time. Heroines don’t have much significant roles to play but Poonam Dhillon (Manjit Singh’s Wife) does justice to her role. Kulraj Randhawa(Ekam’s Wife) & Minnisha Lamba still needs to work on their acting skill as a Punjaban.
Music is Good, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan’s voice is tremendous and Gippy Grewal is a versatile singer. Songs are situational and somewhat add to the tempo of the movie. Story, Direction and Screenplay are the Low points of the movie. Surprisingly the very talented Smeep Kang, couldn’t hold on to the story well. Other than few comedy patches, the story is flat. On the whole not a “Smeep Kang” Movie. It can be a one time watch with the family as the comedy doesn’t get Dirty. Overall, even with the big names and some good acting movie not up to the Expectations of the Audiences.
